Vata Pacifying Almond Pancakes:
These simple pancakes are made on almond flour, perfect for when you are menstruating, recognised as the Vata phase of the cycle according to Ayurveda! Eggs are pacifying for this dominant Dosha due to their grounding, nourishing qualities. This is why I was drawn to them on day 2 of my bleed.
Cinnamon’s warming properties are grounding for Vata while almonds replenish brain health & nurtures our Shukra Dhatu, the tissue of our body that governs fertility & menstrual health. All of these make for a perfect blend for Vata's need for grounding and sustained energy. The addition of the ghee provides those essential good fats & gut repairing properties!

Ingredients:
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1 tsp organic vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- Ghee for frying
Method:
Mix all ingredients & fry in ghee. Pair with a stewed fruit compote, jam or maple syrup.
